What is construction staking?
Meridian’s surveyors provide staking of critical elements for the layout of projects. Before any work is done on site, we set up a control network for the project and ensure that it is verified and provided to the contractor so that reference points can be more easily visualized at the site from the civil design construction documents. We provide layout for utilities, curb and gutter, grade staking, as well as grid lines for building layout. We also complete all the calculations in house and have a QA/QC process to ensure projects are laid out correctly the first time. Once accomplished, we provide a cut sheet of the field data to the site superintendent team to ensure an understanding of the defined perimeters and they can contact us with any questions or concerns before anything is built.
